The Pandora Papers

You might have heard of Pandora, the Greek mythological figure, but in the finance world, it is the label for the latest international scandal involving many of the most powerful individuals across the globe and where they stash their “extra” cash.

The Pandora Papers expose a large network of worldwide syndicates running offshore bank accounts stashed in those tax havens we all know and love: The Cayman Islands, Panama, and Switzerland. The paper reveals the financials of at least 35 heads of state, 300 other public officials, and 100+ billionaires, celebrities, and business tycoons are also being exposed.

The snitchers where none other than the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. And who did they snitch on? Some include Vladimir Putin (obviously), Elton John, Ringo Starr, and the heads of state of Honduras, Spain, Kenya, the Dominican Republic, and many, many more. To clarify, not everyone who have been exposed in this leak have been accused of any wrongdoing or corruption, but you can expect to whenever you turn on the 6pm news to hear something in relation to the now infamous ‘Pandora Papers’.
